Dormant Bitcoin Address from Satoshi Era Activates, Transfers $43.9 Million

A dormant Bitcoin address that dates back to the time when Satoshi Nakamoto was active has recently become active again after 10 years. The wallet contained 687 BTC, which is equivalent to $43.9 million, and it transferred its holdings to two different wallets on May 6. The movement of funds from old wallets, especially those from the Satoshi era, often generates interest within the crypto community. However, experts believe that these wallets are more likely associated with early miners or buyers looking to make a profit, rather than being linked to Satoshi himself. It is worth noting that there are approximately 1.75 million Bitcoin wallets that have remained inactive for over a decade, many of which contain significant BTC holdings. These dormant wallets hold a total of 1,798,681 Bitcoin, valued at around $121 billion at today's price.
