Polygon Launches Miden, a Zero-Knowledge Rollup Solution for Enhanced Ethereum Capabilities

Polygon, an Ethereum layer-2 developer, has launched an alpha version testnet of its new zero-knowledge rollup (ZK-rollup) solution called Miden. Miden is designed to enhance the capabilities of the Ethereum blockchain by using cryptography to verify data without revealing its contents to the network. It also allows users to generate proofs for their own state transitions without disclosing the state to the network, improving privacy and scalability. Miden offers additional features such as private accounts and parallel transaction execution, which enables higher throughput than the Ethereum mainnet. The project is in direct competition with other scaling networks like StarkWare's StarkNet and Matter Labs' zkSync Era. The launch of the testnet did not have a significant impact on Polygon's native token, MATIC.
